Lily

“Lily” is a surreal drama about a woman, Jasmine, who lives in the shadow of a deeply buried history. A chance meeting with a mysterious girl brings new hope to her life. But things are not always as they seem … the film was shot in the course of five days in different locations in Poole, UK.
The professional, albeit sometimes hectic, production took a diverging course. Due to a very tight schedule, we did not put the entire shot list into action. Luckily, we were able to reshoot an important shot in one location (the laundrette). However, the missing shots, especially exterior shots from within and around the park, resulted in some drawbacks in the final edit. The film’s structure did not suffer due to this, but the character development certainly did. We could not convey the emotions of the two main characters as much as we wanted to. However, despite these drawbacks, the finished product is a successful, engaging film, not least to the strong script and visuals.

“Lily” was showcased at the short film corner of Cannes International Film Festival in 2012.
